During my time here I’ve worked for the BBC, been shortlisted for an internship with documentary filmmaker Nick Broomfield and attended the Lodz Film Festival in Poland.

“When I was 17 and lacking any clue about what I wanted to do, I opened the Edge Hill University prospectus and set my heart immediately on the Film Studies with Film Production course.

The Edge Hill campus is so green and natural, which is very different to a lot of the grey, concrete institutions I’ve been to and the atmosphere is great. Despite being almost three hundred miles from where I am originally from, Ormskirk really has become my second home.

It is one big happy family here, and it doesn’t matter what you are doing – whether it’s nipping to the on-campus shop for milk or having a night out in town – you always bump into someone you know, or at least recognise. There are always lots of opportunities here to meet new people and have a fantastic time.

In my spare time I captain Edge Hill’s women’s basketball team, play volleyball, work as a student guide and try to get as much TV or film work experience as I can. During my time hereI’ve worked for the BBC, been shortlisted for an internship with documentary filmmaker Nick Broomfield and attended the Lodz Film Festival in Poland.

The way I look at it, you’ve got to make the most of every opportunity available to you, grab it with both hands and not be afraid of failure (or success), because now is definitely the time to make those mistakes!”
