BA (Hons) Musical Theatre

Our tutors really push you out of your comfort zone, identifying where you need help and then supporting you to build your self-belief.

“The opportunity to learn and develop as a performer was my reason for joining this course. I thought the range of modules would help to improve my acting, singing and dancing, as well as give me new experiences, and they have definitely done that.

I love to perform and the opportunities I have had on this course have been excellent in allowing me to develop my repertoire and skills. The performance study module required us to perform three songs in front of an audience which was a great experience.

We’re currently preparing for a performance which includes industry professionals, which will also be a rehearsal for real auditions. I’m both excited and nervous as it could open a lot of doors for me.

As a result of these experiences I am a lot more confident. Our tutors really push you out of your comfort zone, identifying where you need help and then supporting you to build your self-belief. Confidence is key for me and I definitely benefitted from being encouraged. I think that that’s what most students need.

When I graduate I want a career in musicals, so the professional contacts we have made here are really useful. We have worked a number of London companies, including the cast of Hair and Pitch Perfect, spending whole days working on character development, music, surrounding issues and generally getting a feel for what it would be like to create your own piece. They really inspired us to think outside the box and I learnt so much.”
