Ellie Stewart

BA (Hons) Creative Performance

I really liked how this degree includes many interesting topics that I hadn’t seen covered at other universities.

“While I really love the campus, it is so welcoming and attractive, it was the course that brought me to Edge Hill University. I had studied dance and drama since I was small, and still really enjoy them, but knew that I wanted to branch out into other areas of the performing arts.

I really liked how this degree includes many interesting topics that I hadn’t seen covered at other universities. Even though I knew that the first year syllabus covered subjects like aerial work, lighting and multimedia, I’ve still been surprised by the amount I have learnt.

The course is ideal for people who want to develop a wide range of abilities and I would advise anyone who comes here to have an open mind and to be prepared to learn. I’ve realised that there’s so much more to the performing arts than just dance and drama.

Although I am yet to learn a lot over the remaining years of the course, and that I may change my mind, I am already thinking about going into dance therapy for children once I graduate.

Some of our tutors are dance and drama therapists and, like all the tutors on the course, are really encouraging and supportive. I feel sure that the skills I develop will prepare me well for my future career.”
