The best thing about my course is the level of creativity. Each day brings something new and I like the fact that I can oversee a project from start to finish – from the drawings and notes in my sketchbook to a fully executed piece of design.

“I am a real home girl at heart and initially felt nervous about moving away to study, but from the moment I visited Edge Hill University I instantly felt settled.

The campus is very scenic and everyone is really friendly, while the BA (Hons) Advertising course is perfect for me as it allows my creativity to flourish.

I love the time that I spend here. Ormskirk is such a pretty town, with a variety of bars and restaurants, while being so close to Liverpool means I can easily visit an awesome shopping location.

The best thing about my course is the level of creativity. Each day brings something new and I like the fact that I can oversee a project from start to finish – from the drawings and notes in my sketchbook to a fully executed piece of design.

Alongside this, I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to carry out some freelance graphic design work for local businesses. I am really grateful to my enthusiastic and supportive tutors who encouraged me to take up this work.

My decision to become a student blogger was based on the fact that when I first visited Edge Hill at an open day I loved hearing the stories and the experiences of the student guides. Because of this, I thought I too could share my story by blogging.

Speaking to the student guides made coming to university feel less daunting, so I hope that by sharing my experiences I can help others who are considering studying at Edge Hill.

After graduating, I hope to work in a creative industry where there is something new and exciting every day.

I have a real passion for creating new and innovative things that get people talking and thinking, so I feel a role in advertising, either as a copywriter or art director, will be perfect for me.

I believe my course is definitely preparing me for this. I have learnt so much already and love the fact I am continuing to learn new things every day!”
