“I’d heard that Edge Hill University is recognised for its wide range of courses, including teacher training and high quality sports programmes, but it wasn’t until I visited the campus on an applicant day that I decided to study here myself.
Since starting my degree I’ve had constant opportunities for both personal and professional development and found all the staff to be very encouraging and enthusiastic. The other really great aspect of university life is meeting so many new people, making great friendships that you know will last forever.
Because I have become involved in a number of activities that many people may not be fully aware of, such as the volunteer group and rugby team, I thought becoming a student blogger would be a good way of offering my individual insight into university life.
I also felt that people could be missing out on what studying sport is really like, so I generally write about everyday things and provide information that future students may get something out of. I hope that people will read it and become inspired to do something similar too.
Once I complete my course I’d like to progress onto a PGCE and gain qualified teacher status so that I can become a secondary school PE teacher. Edge Hill is already helping me to focus my career decisions and I’d encourage anyone to come here – you certainly won’t regret it.”
