The Faculty of Health and Social Care performed strongly in the national Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014, with 55% of submitted health research identified as internationally excellent or world leading.
Funded by the NIHR and published as part of a themed review of NIHR research on end of life care service ‘Better Ending Right care, right place, right time (December 2015), the development of the Carers’ Alert Thermometer (CAT) was led by a team from Edge Hill University. The Patient Concerns Inventory (PCI)
The Patients Concerns Inventory (PCI) is working towards modernising healthcare and improving the patient experience both in the UK and abroad. The PCI helps patients highlight their concerns and needs for discussion in their clinical interactions / consultations, and has been used by 3,000 patients in the UK. It has also been implemented in America, Canada, Brazil, Finland and Malaysia.
