Adaptive Mathematics Teaching
Richard is passionate about ensuring that primary mathematics education is inclusive through adopting effective adaptive teaching approaches. He is specifically interested in the prevalence that has been given to SEND by Ofsted and how this is seen as the ‘golden thread’ that runs through the curriculum. To this end, Richard is currently involved in producing a book for trainee and early career teachers on embedding SEND across primary mathematics teaching. Whilst undertaking this project, Richard is engaging with and drawing from knowledge-based data and research.

Richard teaches across various programmes spanning level 4-level 7 at Edge Hill including the BA(Hons) Primary Education and Primary PGCE. With regards to subjects, Richard’s teaching incorporates Mathematics, Music, RE and Professional Studies.
