Biography

Raj joined the Edge Hill University in February 2008 as a Senior Lecturer in Chemistry with added responsibilities as a Course Leader for ‘B.Sc. (Hons) Science Secondary Education with QTS’ and he became subject coordinator for Secondary Science Education in January 2013.

 

He has utilised his academic talents in a number of professional roles. He began his career as a Senior Research Fellow at G.B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar in India. Since moving to the UK he has taught at a number of institutions. He began his time as a visiting Lecturer of Chemistry during his Ph.D. study at the University of Sunderland. He then gained the position of post-doctoral fellow of Chemistry at the University of Birmingham. He took the position of Lecturer in Chemistry at Wirral Metropolitan College in 2004 until 2008 when he move to Edge Hill University where he was teaching B.Sc. (Hons) chemistry (accredited by the University of Manchester), HNC and HND courses in chemistry. Alongside his own work and interests his name was included in directory for Good Practice 2009/10, for high quality tutor support impacting positively on retention and progression. He has been awarded ‘The Chancellor’s Award 2013’ for recognition of his excellence in teaching.
