Biography

Senior lecturer – Nurse education. 

Adult nurse with experience in renal nursing, mainly focussing on acute and maintenance dialysis. 

Experience gained across 3 higher education institutions. 

Research Interests

The professional development and professional identity of the renal nurse.

Qualitative research – experience of using hermeneutic phenomenology.

Research projects 

Exploring the impact of university educational programmes on the renal nurse’s practice. A work-based project undertaken in part fulfilment of an Educational Doctorate (EdD). 

Exploring the caring experiences of haemodialysis nurses – a qualitative study. In part fulfilment of an MSc Management of Long-term Health Conditions. 

Teaching

A broad range of experience of teaching pre and post registration healthcare professionals across all academic levels. A sigificant level of experience in programme leadership, curriculum design and quality assurance processes to support successful programme delivery.
