LLB (Hons) Law

Megan Robertson

The School of Law and Criminal Justice has great lecturers and this, along with the law society for students, provides you with so many opportunities to develop and grow.

When I attended my first open day, I immediately fell in love with the campus and knew it would it be a place I could call home. All the talks I received regarding my education were inspiring and gave me more belief in myself that edge hill would be a place I could grow.

I have developed many skills whilst studying law. The three key skills I have developed the most would be advocacy, confidence in myself and organisational skills.

There are a lot of extra curriculum activities and competitions set up within the Law Society. These activities have helped me to develop essential skills in a practical way. In my first semester I took part in, and won, the mooting competition, so that would have to be the most memorable moment for me.

My favourite thing about my degree subject is the versatility of the assessments. Whilst we do have exams, there is also coursework that goes towards our grades and practical assessments, such as mooting.

The best thing about Edge Hill would be the opportunities. Not just in terms of academic opportunities, but social too. I’ve made so many new friendships.

I have had frequent personal tutor meetings throughout my degree. This has given me the opportunity to seek help if I need it or have any questions surrounding my course answered.

Choosing to study law at Edge Hill was one of the best decisions I made and I believe that everyone has the chance to succeed here.
