My degree prepared me for my career through teaching me about the fundamental aspects required for working in education.
My favourite thing about Edge Hill was the support from of all the tutors on my children and young people’s learning and development course as well as having all the facilities I needed on the one campus.
My degree prepared me for my career through teaching me about the fundamental aspects required for working in education. It also gave me the experience and knowledge I needed to go on to complete a postgraduate diploma in education and provided me with several opportunities for school-based placements.
One of the most important skills I developed from my degree was critical thinking, which is an essential skill to have as a teacher.
My inspiration for pursuing my current career was the combination of my desire to make a difference in young people’s lives and also my passion for travel.
I started my primary school teacher role in Singapore at the beginning of the year but have also been teaching in Mexico since qualifying. My role involves teaching the primary subjects to children with English as an additional language.
My plans for the future are to continue teaching abroad for the foreseeable and study a part time PhD whilst doing so.
My advice to someone considering studying at Edge Hill University is to do it! The support from tutors really does make your life whilst studying so much easier, if you need help, it’s there.
