MSci (Hons) Nurse Paramedic (Adult)
I’m acquiring the skills of both a nurse and a paramedic. They provide the practitioner with a greater level of skills and clinical leadership.
I’m acquiring the skills of both a nurse and a paramedic. They provide the practitioner with a greater level of skills and clinical leadership, with a view to treating clients at home. Providing care within the community in order to avoid hospital admissions where possible is a really interesting challenge.
Edge Hill has a very good reputation for nurse education and student satisfaction. I love learning about anatomy and physiology.
The campus is beautiful, it’s a very relaxing environment, but with high quality equipment. I love the fountain in the middle, the freedom to walk around without too many students. And there’s lots of activities and support available for students where needed.
Best career advice? You can only do your best. Question everything, advocate for your patient to the best of your skill and ability…and always finish on time!
Personal statements are your chance to impress. Tell them about any incidents that helped you decide to study healthcare, explain why you’re drawn to studying at Edge Hill University, and what you’ll bring to the course.
If I want some downtime, I walk my dogs. I’m not big on social media, I like my privacy. But between reading medical books, I like Yellowstone, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings.
My routine is hectic: school drop offs, dash to University, dash back to pick up the kids, walk dogs, supper – my favourite food is Persian, although I like anything Middle Eastern -, visit my parents, assignments until the early hours, repeat.
When I graduate I’m going ranching in Montana. I give 100 percent to the course, so it’ll be a time to enjoy being with my family and animals.
My heroes are my parents. They’re strong, compassionate, they’ve travelled extensively, and embrace every cultural difference and every challenge with enormous dignity. Truly great human beings.
