Biography

Julie has been Head of Postgraduate Medical Education at Edge Hill University since 2019. Her clinical speciality is medical imaging and she has a particular interest in medical diagnostic ultrasound and, her expertise in this area was reflected in her having been the President of the British Medical Ultrasound Society, Chair of CASE (Consortium for the Accreditation of Sonographic Education) and Presdient of UKAS (United Kingdom Association of Sonographers). She has also held various positions in the European Federation Society of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology. In April 2022, Julie was made Academic Clinical Director of the newly formed North West Imaging Academy Training Hub. She has a attracted signifivcant funding (>£4m) since joining Edge Hill University in both areas of medical education and clinical imaging (contract research, consultancy, direct awards). Julie is a member of EHU Clinical Education Research Group and is a Senior Fellow of Academy HE.
