Biography
Julia joined the Biology Dept as a PhD student and Graduate Teaching Assistant in 2019 after an 11 year career in conservation. Much of this time was spent at the Lancashire Wildlife Trust training graduates and volunteers in ecological assessment and species identification. She also worked with the Entomology department at National Museums Liverpool, enabling recorders to further identification skills through workshops and recording days in the field.
Julia completed an MSc in Conservation Management at Edge Hill University in 2013. Her research focused on the habitat preferences of Scotch Argus (Erebia aethiops) in Northern England.
Her PhD research will focus on the influence of habitat quality on the High Brown Fritillary (Argynnis adippe) in the UK.

- Conservation management of bracken habitats
