BSc (Hons) International Business
Studying international business has also given me the tools to understand and contribute meaningfully to the professional world.
I’ve always been interested in how businesses, especially large-scale international ones, work and the strategies behind successful companies. What inspired me most was seeing how rapidly the business world evolves with technology and global trends—I wanted to be part of that. Studying international business has also given me the tools to understand and contribute meaningfully to the professional world.
Edge Hill stood out to me because of its strong reputation for student support, beautiful campus, and modern facilities like the Catalyst. When I visited, the welcoming atmosphere and passion of the lecturers really made it feel like the right place to grow both academically and personally.
The top three skills that I have learned during my degree are:
Critical Thinking – I’ve learned to evaluate information and make informed decisions, especially during research projects.
Communication – Presentations and group assignments have helped me become more confident in expressing ideas clearly.
Time Management – Balancing coursework, deadlines, a part time job and outside commitments has really strengthened my ability to plan and prioritise.
One of my most memorable moments so far would be when I first achieved a first on an assignment. I felt very proud and happy that my hard work had resulted in this. I would also say that meeting people in this course who have become my lifelong friends has also been a memorable part of this degree. They have supported me through tough times and have been a joy to be around whilst studying at university.
I love how practical and relevant my course is. International business affects everything, and the course allows me to explore real-world issues like sustainability, innovation, and global markets while building skills that employers genuinely look for.
The best thing about Edge Hill is how supportive it is. From approachable lecturers to fun, enjoyable societies and resources like the library services, there’s always help available when you need it. You never feel like you’re on your own.
My favourite place on campus is the Catalyst. It really helps me focus and stay calm while working on assignments. I especially love going up to the terrace when the weather is nice—it’s the perfect place to relax and reset.
After graduating, I hope to pursue a career in Business Analytics or Project Management. I am also considering a postgraduate qualification to specialise further.
My advice to someone considering this course would be go for it, but be prepared to stay organised and get involved. Make the most of the resources, attend your lectures and seminars, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. The more engaged you are, the more rewarding the experience will be.
Edge Hill has supported me in so many ways, from academic advice and assignment feedback from Uniskills sessions and lecturers, to career guidance from the Careers team. The tutors are approachable and there are many module drop-in sessions that make it easier to stay on top of everything. I have also felt very supported by my Personal Tutor, who has been very helpful and kind, and someone I can always share any concerns I have.
