Biography

Prior to joining Edge Hill as a Senior Lecturer in Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning in September 2003, Felix was Second in Mathematics Department at a secondary school in Knowsley where he taught Mathematics at key stage 3 and 4.

Since joining Edge Hill University, he has undertaken several roles and responsibilities across secondary Mathematics and QTS programmes. These include, Course Leader Flexible Secondary Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) Mathematics course, Programme Leader (PGCE) Secondary Programme and more recently Course Leader Secondary Undergraduate Mathematics Course.

Felix’s contribution to teaching innovation and student support cuts across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and he is also part of a PhD supervisory team researching into Academic Citizenship and Entrepreneurialism.

As part of his Learning and Teaching Fellowship (Internationalisation) responsibilities, Felix delivered staff development training and disseminated good practice on supporting BAME and international students. He has also participated in several international student recruitment events in Ghana, Ireland, and Nigeria.

As a result of these several influences and contexts of work, Felix’s research areas remain diverse, ranging from mathematics education and pedagogical development, Internationalisation of Higher Education, and classroom assessment.
