Biography
Claire is a Senior Lecturer in Physical Education and School Sport at Edgehill University. She has over fifteen years of coaching and performance analysis experiences across a range of contexts, including working as a coach in elite girls football environments and working as a performance analyst in the English Football League.
Claire has worked extensively within sport coaching and sports development across both elite and community environmnets. Working for organisations such as Birmingham FA and the Manchester United Foundation, Claire has written and develivered several football coaching and leadership programmes aimed at upskilling coaches.
Research Interests
Claire’s research interests lie in the coaching process, the use of performance analysis by coaches and coach development. Claire has completed her PhD which focused on the use of performance analysis by coaches and which proposed the contextualisation of performance analysis for clubs and coaches. Claire is an active researcher with recent projects focusing on the use of performance analysis in the English Football League, academy football coaches use of performance analysis and the role of the analyst in coach behaviour analysis.
Teaching
Claire teaches on several practical teaching / coaching modules on the BA(Hons) Physical Education and School Sport.
