Dr Chris Phelan

Profile

Biography

Chris is a Senior Lecturer in the Business School at Edge Hill University, with responsibility for leading professional and leadership development provision. His work focuses on leadership and management development, including delivery of Chartered Management Institute (CMI) programmes, Leadership for Growth, and the Help to Grow: Management programme.

Chris also manages the School’s transnational education franchise partnerships and has extensive experience in CPD design, external engagement, and practice-focused education.

Chris joined Edge Hill University in 2018, having previously held academic roles at the University of Lincoln and the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). He completed his PhD at UCLan in 2014.

Before entering higher education, Chris worked in project management and logistics with organisations including JCB, Nippon Yusen Group, and the Royal Air Force.

Entrepreneurship, Small Business, and Community-Owned Enterprises.
