Anya Kilgallon
LLB Law with Criminology
Being part of the Interventions team, I have gained an insight into the work of solicitors in other departments. This placement provided the opportunity to continue working with this firm as a paid employee.
During my placement at Stephensons Solicitors, I developed a good understanding on how an interventions team operate and the important role the SRA (Solicitor’s Regulatory Authority) play in maintaining professional standards in the legal sector. I developed interpersonal skills since working at Stephenson’s; the team were so welcoming. Stephensons Solicitors have a variety of departments at the Wigan office, and by being part of the Interventions team, I have gained an insight into the work of solicitors in other departments. This placement provided the opportunity to continue working with this firm as a paid employee. I hope that this opportunity will clarify the area of law I would like to consider for my future career, whilst gaining valuable experience as I continue to study.
“Anya settled in well regarding her role at Stephensons, supporting the fee earners in the team on a variety of different matters. Anya has had her own small projects to work on and take sole responsibility for, to ensure that they are seen through and focused on each time that she is in the office. She has made relationships with clients and third parties and is the main point of contact in relation to those projects.
Anya’s next goal is to start making more calls to clients and third parties, which again will support the team.
I hope that the continued placement will provide Anya with a good insight to what would be expected of her in the future, and thank her for her support so far.”
