All schools working in partnership with Faculty of Education (FoE) are entitled to free access to a range of resources.

Aspiration raising activity

A visit to Edge Hill University campus for:

  • Year 5 (Primary)
  • Year 7 (Secondary)
  • Year 12 and 13 (via Edge Hill University Student Recruitment Team)

Edge Hill University resources, facilities and expertise to support individual school/setting driven, subject specific projects.

Engagement with the FoE Scholars Programme.

Free tickets to the University Arts Centre for pupils (opportunity to influence programming to reflect school curriculum).

Research

  • Support and guidance when designing and developing small school based research projects and joint funding bids.
  • Engagement with pre-existing research projects within the Faculty of Education advertised through the Partnership Newsletter.
  • The annual Faculty of Education Acre Research Conference and any other conferences offered to our students.
  • Monthly drop in research workshops on campus and/or in hub schools with the opportunity to bring potential school/setting research ideas for discussion/support.

University-led projects

Projects led by the University include (but not limited to):

  • Beach school – benefit from the extensive beach school network and expert Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Forest school – visit Forest Edge and access specialist support

Professional development

  • FoE free termly CPD offer for all staff
  • Working alongside FoE and wider university colleagues to deliver specific school-based CPD
  • Membership of Faculty Strategic Partnership Board, Departmental Partnership Boards, delivery of guest lectures, team teaching with academic colleagues at the University
  • Free mentor training for all mentors within the school (including supply cover for more bespoke training)
  • Invitation to Edge Hill University Annual Careers Conference for all Heads of Sixth Form and Careers
  • The role of a ‘critical friend’ when planning for specific activity within or beyond the school/setting
  • Access to key strategic relationships held by the University and support with networking opportunities
  • Access to our careers services to advertise posts first to our final year and PGCE students seeking employment

Access additional resources at a reduced cost

Specific events/bespoke conferences by request, led by the Faculty, for example:

  • Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)
  • Inclusion
  • Technology enhanced learning
  • Phonics and early reading

Events can be delivered at Edge Hill University or designed specifically for a particular MAT or cluster of schools.

Use of the campus facilities to host-specific school events e.g. competitions, and public speaking events.

Other opportunities include:

  • Revision masterclasses
  • Support for moderation activity
  • Access to certain postgraduate certificates and the MA Education
