Heavy snow didn’t just affect commuters in and around Ormskirk on one of the coldest days of the year so far on the last Wednesday of January – it also played havoc with Edge Hill University’s BUCS fixture schedule.
Freezing conditions meant that the first BUCS rugby union and hockey fixtures of 2019 were called off. However, this meant badminton took centre stage at Edge Hill University’s sports complex.
With the festive break approaching there were only two official BUCS fixtures for Edge Hill University sides – and there were positive results for both teams in competitive action.
