According to data released by the Complete University Guide 2022, Edge Hill has the lowest crime rates of all universities towns in the region.
The University manages and maintains nearly 2,500 single study bedrooms in halls of residence, offering a secure and supportive living environment for students.

Edge Hill’s Campus Support team is available 24/7 to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students, staff and visitors to the campus. In addition to this, a 24/7 support system is in place for residential students to ensure they feel comfortable and safe in their on-campus accommodation.
The University provides a number of campus-based security and support functions including:
- Mobile security patrols
- Traffic and parking management
- Access control i.e. issue of keys, fobs and access cards to authorised persons
- Monitoring of safety and security systems e.g. fire and intruder alarms and regular campus patrols
- CCTV monitoring
- Emergency response e.g. response to incidents, alarms and first aid provisions
- Out of hours FM Helpdesk service
- Provision of advice, support and guidance to all customers
The Complete University Guide annual rankings are calculated by collating the most common offences affecting students around students’ term-time addresses and give the clearest picture of crime rates in neighbourhoods close to 130 UK universities.
The statistics are based on official police reports and aim to give safety-conscious students the most accurate and up-to-date information when making their higher education choices.
