We have a lot going on in and around campus throughout December and into the new year to get you in the festive spirit. And best of all, the majority of the events programme is completely free of charge for EHU students.

Sleigh Your Studies

Sunday 1 – Tuesday 31 December

Get ready for January assessment period with UniSkill’s Sleigh Your Studies. From growing your academic resilience, to improving your exam preparation and developing your proofreading. Sleigh Your Studies can make sure you feel confident and ready. Most workshops are available online, so you can access them no matter where you are over the winter break.

Deck the Halls competition

Get Connected for Christmas

Monday 2 December, 4-6pm, The Hub

The most wonderful time of the year. Start your week with letter writing, Christmas gift tag making, Christmas music bingo and of course, hot chocolates.

Global Café: Christmas quiz and crafts

Tuesday 3 December, 4-6pm, The Hub

Global Café brings you a Christmas quiz and everything you need to create a range of Christmas crafts.

Christmas Carol concert

Wednesday 4 December, 7-8pm, St Anne’s Parish Centre

Ormskirk Community Choir would like to invite you to an informal carol concert in church followed by mulled wine and mince pies in St Anne’s Parish Centre. Enjoy a medley of traditional carols and modern festive favourites with plenty of opportunity for you to join in with our local community.

Therapy Dogs

Thursday 5 December, 11am-1pm, Arts Centre

Everyone’s favourite – Santa Paws. Head to the Arts Centre for festive fuzzy cuddles.

EHU Winter Markets

Thursday 5 December, 10am-2pm, The Hub

The ultimate Hub takeover. Get ready to experience our very own grotto between 10am-2pm. There will be a range of market stalls for you to start your shopping and if you’re quick, a free festive treat. You don’t want to miss it.

Free Film Friday: Christmas special

Friday 6 December, 5.30-9.30pm, Arts Centre

Keep an eye on the Arts Centre’s what’s on to see what Christmas film you can enjoy. Completely free of charge.

Saturday Social: DIY decorations

Saturday 7 December, 1-3pm, Hub TV

A wholesome Saturday making decorations. Put them up in your home, or gift them to friends and family. The perfect way to do Christmas on a budget with all supplies provided free of charge. Book now to avoid disappointment.

Chester Christmas Markets trip

Saturday 7 December, 9.15am, meet at Creative Edge

Want to get your gifts for loved ones? Or maybe treat yourself? Our Chester Christmas market trip is perfect for whoever you’re buying presents for. We’ll be setting off from Creative Edge at 9.15am, for a Christmas filled day. Remember booking is essential for this trip. Once all places are filled, we will open a waiting list.

Christmas budgeting hacks

Monday 9 December, 11.30am-1pm, Student Life Arch

Budgeting can be hard, especially over the festive period. Head to the Student Life Arch between 11.30am and 1pm to get some tips on how to make your money go further this winter.

Learn2Cook: Merry bakes

Tuesday 10 December, 6-8pm, Food Lab (FoHSCM)

Learn2Cook just got festive. Use your new recipe to make treats for your flat mates. Or maybe share them with your family when heading home for the winter break. Places for Learn2Cook fill up quickly. Please book early to avoid disappointment. A waiting list will be available once places are filled.

Festive Faith and Food

Wednesday 11 December, 12-2pm

The Faith and Food Café is a space where people of all faiths and none can join together in a friendly and inviting café style environment. You are welcome to join with booking however, registering your interest helps us to order the right amount of food and avoid waste.

Christmas Breakfast

Thursday 12 December, 8-9am, Creative Edge Foyer

Join the Student Life Team for a Christmas Breakfast, whether you are a commuting student or resident. Help yourself to a free hot drink and snack. And remember – it’s Christmas Jumper Day. Get involved and spread the festive cheer.

And remember, you can still head to the Student Life Arch each weekday between 11.30am-1pm. Chat to our friendly Campus Connectors about any questions you have about Student Life.

Commute to campus? Start your wintery mornings each Tuesday and Thursday with our Commuter Breakfasts. Between 8-9am you can enjoy a free breakfast at Creative Edge. The last Commuter Breakfast will take place on 12 December.
