A wide shot of Edge Hill University's main building on a day with blue skies

For the second year running Edge Hill University features in the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020 by subject area.

This latest accolade follows on from entering the top fifty UK universities in the Guardian University Guide 2020 and achieving its highest ever ranking in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020 – continually being recognised for outstanding achievements in student support, graduate employment and innovation.

The subject-specific tables follow the publication of the overall THE World University Rankings 2020. The institution has received individual scores for courses categorised as Social Sciences and Education.

Dr John Cater, Vice-Chancellor of Edge Hill University said: “Once again we are delighted to secure this global accolade, which considers the overall teaching quality at a world class level, the reputation of our research, industry innovation and international outlook.”

Edge Hill is ranked in the Education table, which covers education, teacher training and academic studies in education courses. The University is also ranked for Social Sciences, which covers the University’s Geography, Sociology and Politics degrees.

On 19 November, it was announced that Edge Hill was also ranked in other subjects, including Psychology and Clinical, Pre-Clinical and Health.
