Edge Hill University has been officially recognised as one of the world’s best green spaces – for the eighth successive year.

This year a record 1,970 parks and green spaces collected a Green Flag Award – with the campus in Ormskirk joining 203 others in the North West.

An extra 131 parks and green spaces in 13 other countries also received the prestigious accolade.

Now in its third decade, the scheme offers public recognition of an area which boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is well maintained and can boast excellent visitor facilities. Edge Hill University Grounds Manager, Neil Toner, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to receive a Green Flag Award. We know how much quality green spaces matter to residents and visitors, and this award celebrates the dedication that goes into maintaining Edge Hill University to such a high standard.”
