Anyone considering postgraduate study is being encouraged to give it a go and come along to Edge Hill University to find out more.
The university is holding a study fair on Wednesday 6 March for anyone wanting to find out more about taught postgraduate, research and PGCE programmes.
Academics and staff will be on hand in the Business School between 3-7pm to discuss course options, scholarships, bursaries, fees and the postgraduate loan system.
Tom Magee, who is currently studying an MSc in Sport, Physical Activity and Mental Health, said:
“I was always uncertain as to what I wanted to do at the end of my degree in Ulster, Northern Ireland. But after attending a guest lecture by an Edge Hill University professor on sport and mental health I knew I wanted to be part of it and learn more. I didn’t really know much about postgrad studies or the university before I applied and wasn’t sure what to expect. But embarking on my postgrad studies has been one of the best experiences of my life.
“Everyone shares the same ambitions for the future. There are endless opportunities to get practical experience related to your studies and ample training courses to further develop yourself professionally. The facilities and environment are second to none, especially the new Catalyst building (library careers and student services). And there is always someone available if you need help with anything academically or personally.
He added: “If you’re unsure of what life holds beyond a degree I would seriously recommend thinking about higher level studies. It’s only one extra year of your career and you will gain vast experience and knowledge in that time. Coming to Edge Hill for my MSc is the best decision I’ve ever made.”
