Edge Hill University’s Careers’ team is offering a chance to secure the best new graduate opportunities with a unique boot camp-style workshop.
Called ‘Commandeer your career’, the unique two-hour workshop is available to Edge Hill’s former students who have graduated from 2016 onwards.
New for 2018, the free boot camp comprises interactive activities to help graduates progress through tough selection processes to kick start their careers.
The session will include CV building, job application forms and interview, as well as other useful hints and tips to help secure graduate roles and schemes.
Debby Murray, Careers Adviser said: “It’s the time of year when graduate recruiters are on the hunt for their next intake of talent, and the Careers team at Edge Hill are here to help new graduates get snapped up.
“We support students from the moment they arrive at the University through to three years after graduation. Our support ranges from individual careers consultations to regular workshops helping students to secure that all important part time job or boosting employability skills through volunteering.”
Edge Hill’s strength in employability is demonstrated by 96.6 per cent of its full time first degree graduates finding work or further study within six months of graduating (HESA), and the University has a top ten shortlisting in TARGETjob’s National Graduate Recruitment Awards.
The Boot camp will be held on 2nd October between 5.30pm and 8.30pm.
Opportunities to put the skills into action will be available at the University’s annual recruitment fair, organised by the Employer Liaison Team, with approximately 50 organisations with careers available across a range of subject areas. This year the event takes place on Tuesday 16 October, and is open to graduates as well as students.
