Edge Hill University has been shortlisted in three categories in this year’s National Student Housing Survey (NSHS) Awards.
The University has been announced as a finalist in the Best University Halls, Best Value for Money and Best Moving in Experience categories.
The NSHS awards are unique as the results are based 100 per cent on direct feedback from tens of thousands of students who study at universities across the UK.
Lynda Brady, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience) said:
“Having our accommodation nominated for even more top awards is excellent news. The NSHS awards are particularly special as they are voted for by students – there are no nominations or expert judges – so the shortlist is decided directly by the students who live in accommodation.
“Our halls of residence are at the heart of our vibrant campus community, providing a safe environment for students to live, study and socialise. We are also delighted that our moving in experience, Welcome Sunday, has also been recognised this year. Staff from departments across the University dedicate a lot of time, effort, and energy planning to ensure Welcome Sunday sets all our new students up for a fantastic time at Edge Hill.”
Last year, Edge Hill won the Whatuni Student Choice award for accommodation and the NSHS award for Best Value for Money Accommodation.
By September 2018, there will be 2,486 rooms available on campus for first years in a range of catered and traditional halls and modern apartments, and also second, third and postgraduate students, accommodated in brand new townhouses.
The National Student Housing Survey Awards are run by Red Brick Research and University Business and have been running since 2008. This year’s winners will be announced in September.
