Edge Hill University is seeking to appoint new Governors who have the task of overseeing the educational character and mission of the institution.
The University is specifically seeking applications from HR professionals, qualified accountants, legal specialists and those working in healthcare settings, as well as those with significant professional, academic or business experience at a senior level to join the Board of Governors.
The Board of Governors has oversight of the educational character and mission of the University with specific responsibilities for institutional sustainability, financial probity and the effective use of resources. It comprises both lay and appointed members.
Clerk to the Board of Governors Lesley Munro, said:
“We’re looking for people who have commitment to the role of the University as a major, high quality provider of higher education regionally, nationally and internationally, as well as being focused on quality and having a willingness to promote the University externally and within the community it serves.
“Expressions of interest from women and members of minority ethnic groups would be particularly welcome.”
The role of Governor is not salaried but the majority of meetings are held in the evenings and travel expenses may be paid.
