The University has launched a Student Opportunity Fund to enable students to take advantage of career enhancing and life changing opportunities.

The new fund ensures that costs are not a barrier to students making the most of their experience at Edge Hill. It allows undergraduate students to apply for up to £2,000 which can help towards the cost of activities designed to prepare them for the future and enhance their employability skills.

Examples of the types of activity the fund supports includes volunteering opportunities, internships, travel to and from interviews or assessment days, expenses to attend a conference, festival or event to showcase their work, and an opportunity to travel abroad for academic purposes.

Lead of the Student Opportunity Fund (SOF), Frances Scattergood, said:

“The Student Opportunity Fund is a great opportunity for our students to take advantage of to help them fulfil their career goals. The fund is designed to support students who want to participate in an activity or project that will enhance their employability skills but funding is preventing them from doing so. This can be taking part in a short course, entering films in to film festivals, travel expenses for work experience to an internship abroad, students can apply for any amount, from bus fare up to £2,000.  We are excited to hear about what fantastic opportunities our student take part in.”
