Edge Hill University has been named as one of the top public Universities in the country for graduate employment.
In the latest set of figures released by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), 95.3 per cent of students graduating from a first, full time degree secure jobs or go on to further study after graduating.
HESA figures identify the destination of leavers six months after graduation. HESA carry out the survey annually through contacting those who completed their degree courses during the 2014/2015 academic year.
Vice-Chancellor Dr John Cater said:
“We are delighted with the announcement of the HESA results.
“As an institution we are committed to producing employable graduates, and it is clear that from these latest figures our focus on student employability is paying off. We involve employers in the design of our degrees and ensure that where possible our programmes carry professional accreditation so that graduates can directly enter their career of choice.”
The employability figures follow a year of success with Edge Hill University being named the best student experience in the North West in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2016, and the University securing a top two award nationally for a good environment on campus, and a top three place nationally for high quality facilities in the same survey.
The last decade has seen investment of more than £250m on Edge Hill’s campus facilities which includes a £30m sports complex, and a £13m technology hub which is due to open in September 2016.
