Edge Hill University has the best university halls in the United Kingdom according to the National Student Housing Survey (NSHS) Awards 2016.
In addition to winning one of the four headline awards ahead of Lancaster and Northumbria Universities, Edge Hill was also a finalist in the categories of Best Value for Money and Best Environmental Management.
Independent market research agency Red Brick Research announced the winners at a ceremony held in London last week, with Edge Hill University being recognised for ‘demonstrating the highest levels of student satisfaction amongst residents’.
Kate McAdam, Edge Hill’s Head of Accommodation said it is the first year the University has entered into the category.
“This award is a significant achievement that reflects the excellent work and passion of the Edge Hill accommodation team. It clearly demonstrates that the 2,091 students who call Edge Hill home value and recognise the professional service provision and residential experience they receive at the University.
“We hope to continue this award winning standard with construction of additional student halls of residence throughout the next twelve months which will provide 168 new single-study en-suite bedrooms,” she said.
The NSHS award follows successful results earlier this year, with the University named as having the best student experience in the North West in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2016, and a top two result nationally for good environment on campus, and top three nationally for high quality facilities in the same table.
Edge Hill was also named in the top four in the North West in the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016 and was regarded as having some of the best university facilities in the UK in the whatuni.com table.
