Edge Hill has been ranked the safest University in the North West for the fourth year running, according to new survey results.
Statistics published by the independent Complete University Guide show that Edge Hill has the lowest crime rates of any of the region’s Universities and remains in the top 10 of safest universities nationally.
Compiled from official police data, the ranking gives the clearest picture possible of the crime rates for almost 130 universities and other higher education institutions and their immediate neighbourhoods in England and Wales.
Steve Igoe, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Edge Hill University said:
“It is great to see Edge Hill University once again named safest University in the North West. Student safety and the minimising of student-related crime is a key priority, and we are very pleased to see the work of the University and the Students’ Union being recognised with this confirmation.
“The safety of our students is of paramount importance to us and we continue to work closely with partners including the police to ensure that crime remains consistently low. This is undoubtedly helped by the significant investment made by the University in round the clock security and night wardens on campus.”
