Staff and students at Edge Hill University have donated around 300 Christmas presents to a local women’s refuge.
The University Christmas tree became a ‘Giving Tree’, decorated with tags listing numerous gift ideas for women and children of all ages, which staff and students picked and bought gifts for donation.
The Giving Tree was organised by the University’s Staff Wellbeing and Careers teams.
Aisling Benson, Staff Wellbeing Officer said: “We are delighted with the response we have received from both staff and students regarding this initiative. We hope that it will bring a little happiness to the women and children in the refuge.”
Over the festive period Edge Hill is also collecting and donating items to Ormskirk Foodbank to help feed local people in crisis.
