A conference and festival featuring the best of UK and Chinese animation will be hosted by Edge Hill University this summer.
The Creative Animation Knowledge Exchange, known as C.A.K.E. 2014, will take place between July 14 and 18 at the campus in Ormskirk and in Liverpool as part of the city’s International Festival of Business.
Animation experts from both the UK and China will give lectures and lead workshops at the Sino/UK festival which will be held at the brand new Creative Edge building, offering state of the art facilities and resources. Throughout the event there will be screenings featuring the best animation works from across the UK and China and discussions about the technologies and processes used to create the work.
Part of an ongoing British Council initiative linked to CICAF, the China International Cartoon and Animation Festival, CAKE 2014 will nurture long-term relationships between the UK and Chinese animation industry and education sectors.
