The second phase of an exciting £30 million project to build a new state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor sports complex at Edge Hill University will open in 2015.
Students and the local community are already benefitting from top-of-the-range 3G soccer pitches, multi-courts, hockey and football pitches, and a new competition-standard athletics track, which opened in 2013 and comprised phase one of the scheme.
Phase two includes the new sports centre building which includes a 25-metre swimming pool, double sports hall for badminton, basketball and squash and a 100-station fitness suite. The project will also include new outdoor tennis courts and a new café will also be built into the complex to provide a social space for customers, students and staff to relax before or after a workout.
Construction will be completed in 2015.
