It is double celebrations for Edge Hill University’s Facilities Management after scooping two awards for customer-focused activities.
The team has achieved the Customer Service Excellence government standard for its services to students, staff and visitors. The prestigious award has only been given to a small number of facilities management departments in the country, making it an exceptional achievement.
The award is in recognition of the efficient services provided by the team, focusing on delivery, timeliness, information, professionalism and staff attitude – with the customer at the heart of service provision.
To add to their string of accolades, the team have also been given another award for their first class catering services food@edgehill, winning Best Menu in the Public Sector at the Blakemore Food Service 2012 Catering Awards.
The award recognises factors such as creativity, balance and sourcing, and follows on from the recent achievement of the prestigious Vegetarian Society accreditation – a first in the higher education sector.

Our teams have worked exceptionally hard to deliver a consistently high-quality service to our students, staff and visitors. This is a well-deserved pat on the back for our dedicated staff. Throughout 2012 FM have achieved a number of external awards and standards, including the award from People and Planet for an impressive performance in the Green League 2012 and achieving Green Flag status for a welcoming, clean and safe campus.
