Edge Hill University’s helpful IT Services Team has been named the winner in an industry survey.
For the fourth year running, hundreds of organisations signed up to take part in the Service Desk Institute’s IT Service Week 2012 to promote their services to customers.
More people voted than ever before but it was Edge Hill University who scooped the top prize after gaining the most votes from happy service-users.
Jenny Jordan, the University’s Customer Services Manager, said: “We thought we would take part in IT Service Week as an exercise to gather customer feedback because it seemed to offer something a bit different. We didn’t have any expectations when we entered so we were delighted to win. It’s lovely to know that so many of our staff and students took this opportunity to acknowledge their IT support team for providing such a fantastic service.
“Winning it has made us feel very proud. We want to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who voted. It’s a real buzz and very motivating.”
“We have a great relationship with the vast majority of our customers and we want to build more on that. We would like to use the feedback from the survey to see what we do well and identify any areas that could be improved. It’s brilliant to be recognised and it feels like the start of something new.”
The team provides support to almost 4,000 staff on its campuses and handles hundreds of IT-related enquiries made by email, telephone or ‘walking in’ every day.
As part of the celebrations for winning this year’s survey, the team will have a formal presentation and will receive a trophy on 23rd October in recognition of their hard work.
