Edge Hill University is ‘on the road’ over the next few months to help prospective students make the best choice when it comes to higher education.

The Student Recruitment Team will be taking part in a number of UCAS  events across the country to give advice and guidance to potential applicants and parents on all aspects of higher education and provision at Edge Hill University.

Those interested in Edge Hill can find out everything about the reputation of the University, the quality of teaching and learning, accommodation on site, the courses available, sports facilities, the range of activities and societies and even the nightlife surrounding the campus.

Liam Owens, Head of Student Recruitment, said: “Choosing the right university is one of the hardest decisions to make and our team of University staff and specially trained Student Ambassadors are on hand at these events to give applicants the information they need in order to make well-informed decisions about their higher education options. Not only do we offer expert advice and guidance but we have a selection of materials that students can take away.

“A convention is like a personal tour of popular universities and colleges where you can pick up literature and information to read and discuss with your adviser. It allows potential students to make an informed choice in their own time and ask the questions that really matter. Going to a UCAS convention can kick start your journey to university or college so come along and see our team.”

Events are free of charge and bring together universities and colleges within the UCAS scheme to inform and guide prospective university and college students.

They are designed mainly for 16-year-old and 17-year-old students and around 250,000 people attend the events annually.

Many of the conventions also have an extensive seminar programme. Recent topics include ‘Student Finance’, ‘Taking a Gap Year’, and ‘Applying through UCAS’.

Conventions are held between March and July in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and between August and October in Scotland.
