Law graduates from Edge Hill University are invited to the inaugural meeting of the Law Alumni Association.
Taking place on Thursday 22nd September, it is a great opportunity for former law students to join the new group, network, become part of the growing alumni community and keep in touch with the work of the Law department at the University.
The evening will be primarily to launch the new association, which aims to provide a society for former Law students to gain careers advice and support, as well as networking with peers and mentoring opportunities.
Alumni Officer Caroline Mitchell said: “For anyone entering the legal profession and wanting to achieve their career ambitions, this is the perfect opportunity to meet like-minded people and it may even open doors to new opportunities. Joining our Law Alumni Association is a great way for former students, professional development delegates and staff members to keep in touch with this key network.”
One the night there will also be an opportunity to meet professional members of the Law Advisory Panel, who work for a number of successful firms across the north-west region.
The panel includes Wirral lawyer Norman Jones, who is President of the Liverpool Law Society. The specialist disease, personal injury and medical negligence lawyer has been running his own practice since 1990, has extensive knowledge around the profession and recognises the constant challenging pressures placed on legal services. A number of experts from the panel will be offering advice to graduates on the night.
The event takes place in the Business and Law School on the Ormskirk campus. Arrival drinks and canapés are from 5.30pm, followed by the official opening of the new Law Alumni Association at 6pm.
