Children who enjoy sports can fill their school holidays with some action-packed activities if they sign up to the CATS Club.
Organised by Edge Hill University’s Sporting Edge Team, the club runs from 26th July to 1st September and the idea behind it is to keep youngsters entertained during the six week summer break.
It is aimed at children aged eight to 12 years and encourages them to become active and find sport enjoyable and rewarding whatever their ability.
The CATS Club is the ideal opportunity for children to try a range of activities and burn off some energy during the holidays.
Those who take part will be able to try out a variety of sports including football, cricket, swimming, bench ball and rounders. In addition, there will also be themed days such as Boot Camp, Superheroes, Healthy Day and Gladiators.
Sarah Gerrie, CATS Supervisor, said: “The school holidays should be a memorable time for children, a chance to unwind, rejuvenate and have some fun. We all know that children can get a little bored during the six week period so the CATS club is the ideal opportunity for youngsters to enjoy themselves and get fit at the same time. It allows children to thrive in a positive environment, where teamwork, encouragement and fun are an everyday occurrence. Those who attend will be able to build their confidence, learn new skills and enjoy some of their favourite activities.”
The club operates Mondays to Fridays during the school holidays (except the August Bank Holiday Monday)), from 8.30am to 5.30pm.
