Edge Hill in all its glory has been captured in a stunning exhibition by an acclaimed international photographer.

A retrospective collection by Tomasz Pob?g-Malinowski of the institution?s Ormskirk campus is to feature alongside his ‘Beach Dreams? exhibit at Blackpool Pleasure Beach between 20th October and 7th November.

Tomasz, who has lectured in media and communications at Edge Hill since February 2003, has been exhibiting his work across Europe and North America for almost 40 years.

“The shots of Edge Hill are a key component of the exhibit which will also feature glimpses of Blackpool, Hackney, Punjab and Cracow,” said Tomasz, who was born in Poland. “The campus?s strength is its landscape and no two days are ever the same.

“The lake and piazza area is really striking ? one misty shot in particular could almost be mistaken for Japan!”

Much of the exhibition will feature images of Blackpool ? a town that Tomasz admits was a joy to photograph.

“Blackpool is a unique place with great tradition and a fairy tale quality. It has such a rich visual stamp, with its trams, illuminations and tourist landmarks, that the potential for interesting imagery is endless.

“I?m really pleased with the collection and I do hope that some local people will be able to make the trip up to Blackpool to see Edge Hill from a slightly different perspective. If not, I?m sure I will be able to display them closer to home in the near future.”

The gallery is free to visit and will be open between 11am and 8pm throughout the exhibition period.
