Around 40 employers were on hand to offer advice at a teaching careers fair held at Edge Hill’s Ormskirk Campus.

The annual event was aimed at the institution’s trainee teachers. Over 1000 are expected to complete final year courses next July, and the fair gave them chance to meet with a range of employers involved in the teaching profession.

Among those participating were representatives from the North West region, as well as those from London Boroughs, Warwickshire and Lincolnshire.

Jacqui Howe is Careers Manager at Edge Hill, she said: “The event was very well attended with students picking up really useful information about different recruitment procedures, closing dates for applications, salaries and induction periods, as well as the pros and cons of living and working in different areas of the country.”

Recruitment consultants from Manchester and London delivered lectures for students starting with preparation for application through to the selection for interview, first appointment and induction.
