Amy Williams

Amy WilliamsHaving graduated in Law in 2013, I spent time as a Legal Assistant working in family law before moving to the North-West and joining Edge Hill University where I support professional body compliance within the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine. As an Associate Tutor within the Faculty, I teach aspects of my postgraduate specialism, healthcare ethics and law, across a number of programmes.

My current research focuses on the ethical, legal and professional issues surrounding conscientious objection and religion in healthcare.

My other broad areas of interest include professional ethics and the regulation of healthcare professionals; and ethico-legal aspects of children’s healthcare, particularly in relation to consent, the scope and exercise of parental responsibility and children’s autonomy.
