Ross Eaton
BA (Hons) Television Production Management

Team player

As a Television Production Management student and member of Edge Hill’s rugby team, Ross was keen to combine his two passions into his perfect career. Whilst still an undergraduate, he achieved this by breaking into the world of television sport production.

In the second year of his course, Ross secured a work placement with BBC Sport’s Rio 2016 Olympic production team. As part of the production manager’s team he was responsible for ensuring health and safety procedures were adhered to, checking and organising travel documents and supporting the production manager. He impressed the team enough to turn his placement into paid employment.

Since graduating, Ross has travelled to Melbourne, Australia with the BBC as a Production Management Assistant for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

“Ross delivered on all counts. He showed confidence in his work, without being overconfident. He really understood the processes and challenges we were faced with and got stuck in, and always with good humour and a calm, positive, can-do attitude.”
