Dr Triestino Mariniello has been invited to teach Ph.D. students in Global Studies at the University of Urbino (Italy). Edge Hill University has an Erasmus Agreement with the University of Urbino and has already hosted scholars from the Italian University.
In light of his recent research published in the German Law Journal, Dr Mariniello will hold a lecture on ‘State of Emergency and Administrative Detention’. The lecture will examine the use of preventive detention within the context of a state of emergency. In particular, it will discuss different forms of administrative detention adopted by Ukraine, France, Turkey, and Israel, and their compatibility with international human rights law standards.
Dr Mariniello has long-standing collaboration with the University of Urbino. Last April, he was invited to give two guest lectures on: ‘The Crisis of the International Criminal Court’ and ‘Judicial Control over Prosecutorial Discretion in the Rome Statute’.
