LLB (Hons) Law, 2017
While Joseph’s time at Edge Hill involved a major balancing act, completing studies amid a number of extra-curricular activities, it was well worth going that further mile.
During his first year, he won the university ‘mooting’ competition, his ‘master of the moot’ role seeing him go on to organise the following year’s event, sitting as a judge during the early rounds. And that experience allowed Joseph to represent Edge Hill during his third year, in the OUP & BPP national mooting competition, reaching the final 16 of 60 UK universities, including Oxford.
Then there was his Westlaw representative role, helping students use a legal database and learn about the changing legal landscape, while also holding a commercial awareness workshop, with excellent student feedback.
Joseph also gained a second-year law academic achievement award, gaining his intake’s highest grade. Furthermore, his strong CV secured his place on a BPP legal practice course.
“The experiences I had will be invaluable in applying for training contracts. I believe I also enhanced Edge Hill’s reputation through the mooting competition and helping students via my Westlaw role. Overall, I took the opportunities offered, having a fulfilling, enjoyable time.”
