Please join us for an afternoon tea and conversation with Jane Brophy North West MEP, where she will discuss her views on social responsibility, including the impact of Brexit on climate change, public health, and what it’s like to be an MEP!
Jane Brophy, North West MEP, was elected to the European Parliament in 2019 and continues to be an elected member of Trafford Metropolitan Council. Prior to her election to the European Parliament Jane was an NHS Allied Health Professional working in the field of Dietetics, specialising in diabetes treatment. She is a member of the British Dietetic Association board and holds a degree in Biochemistry. Jane was also the Liberal Democrat Greater Manchester Metro Mayoral Candidate in 2017 and has spent all of her political life promoting policies to tackle public health and climate change.
We are thrilled that she has agreed to come and launch the Institute for Social Responsibility here at Edge Hill.
ISR is Edge Hill University’s cross-disciplinary research and knowledge exchange initiative. Established in 2013, as the Institute for Public Policy and Professional Practice, its remit has grown to critically examine broad conceptualisations of social responsibility across the social sciences, arts and humanities. The Institute is committed to exploring the opportunities for cross sector collaboration and co-operation and to draw on the experience of practitioners as well as academic researchers to inform new ways of working and learning.
This event takes place at Edge Hill University’s Ormskirk Campus.
