Foundation Programmes

Our specially designed Fastrack and Foundation programmes are the perfect gateway to your study at a top UK university.

Entry requirements for all courses can be viewed here.

International Foundation Programme (IFP)

The International Foundation Programme (IFP) has been specifically developed for International Students who would like to study for an undergraduate degree, but don’t have the relevant qualifications or English language ability.

The programme offers two routes. Route A is for those who need to improve their International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score and includes more language development. Route B is for those who have a higher level of English Language but need to improve their knowledge of their target discipline.

If you would like to improve your English Language skills and academic ability, or have recently finished your studies in high school (equivalent to British AS-level, or Year 12), then this course will give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to start a degree course.

If the International Foundation Programme is completed successfully, your English Language ability will be at least IELTS 6.0, enabling you to progress to degree study in a wide range of areas, including a guaranteed place on an Edge Hill degree programme.

On successful completion, you are guaranteed entry onto the relevant Undergraduate course at Edge Hill – we will help you every step of the way to get there.

The Fastrack route  is designed for students without the correct qualifications for direct entry onto Undergraduate Programmes, or those who are returning to study. Fastrack gives students the confidence to study successfully in Higher Education. Successful completion of the Fastrack course will enable you to be considered for a place on a full-time degree at Edge Hill University in one of the complementary subjects, although places on specific degrees are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed..

The routes available vary and there may be Visa implications for International Students.

IELTS requirements may vary and Fastrack does not include English Language tuition. If you are looking to improve your English Language for admission, you may want to consider the International Foundation Programme or English Language Courses

Students considering the Fastrack programme should contact the International Office in the first instance at
