Our beginner’s Spanish evening course is perfect for anyone looking to learn key language skills before travelling. Gain the confidence to order food, ask for directions, and chat with locals to make your trip even more memorable.
Course overview
Running for 10 weeks from 8th May 2025, this course is designed for complete beginners and those with little prior knowledge of Spanish.
Led by qualified and experienced tutors, you’ll cover essential phrases, pronunciation, and cultural tips to help you get by in everyday situations abroad.
Whether you’re visiting Spain for a beach holiday, city break, or family reunion, this course will give you the tools to connect with locals and enhance your travel experience.
In the 10-week course, we will cover broad topics, such as:
- Basic greetings and pleasantries
- Introduce yourself and other people
- Order food and drinks
- Give and understand basic directions
- Numbers, prices, and asking for cost
- Express likes and dislikes
- Survival expressions and questions.
At the end of the course, you will leave with new skills and confidence to navigate your Spanish holiday and a certificate of participation to mark your achievement. This course is open to community members, Edge Hill University staff, and students. Staff and students receive a discount on this course. If we do not meet the required number of participants, we hold the right to withdraw this course.
